We have been protected now for two to three weeks and have cooled down enough we can move outside. We still need extra heat and shelter from the wind. The three things we must maintain is heat, wind protection and a dry brood. Change the bedding around the fountains everyday. This will keep the rest dry longer.

The starter house is 4 X 8 and has pallets on the ground covered with chipboard or OSB. That is a 250 watt heat lamp hanging in the center. The sheet on the ground is the front. It's not fancy, but does the job nice.

Lights are on and it's warm!

The front is on. like I said it's not pretty, but it works great.

We are ready for them to move outside, We have a new lamp bulb and we will be using the bigger feeder now. It is 48" long.We will use the three gallon water fountain till it gets warmer. We will be able to set it inside where it will not freeze.

We have moved out side!

They are checking it out slowly

We have the three gallon fountain by the light so it will not freeze.

She looks like she is taking charge!

We moved them in on Tuesday 03/12/02 We are having 45 degree days now.
